Alarming the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, BJP leader and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari threatened to file a criminal defamation suit against the Congress vice-president if he continues to insults external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj.
“Rahul Gandhi has insulted Foreign Minister of the nation which amounts to insulting the nation. He should apologise for this…If he continues doing such things then a criminal defamation case has to be filed against him,” he added.
Rahul Gandhi had accused Sushma Swaraj of committing a criminal act. “Sushma Swaraj has done a criminal act. She has signed papers for a fugitive from the law. The PM should answer for this,” Gandhi had said.
“Sushma ji has not done anything wrong. She has not done anything against Constitution or against the law. Congress is upset and frustrated because of election loss, that is why they are making these baseless accusations and misleading people,” Gadkari told reporters.
Meanwhile, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has begun his 10 km-long ‘padyatra’ from a village in the district to highlight the issues faced by farmers and women Self-Help Groups.
