Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on 30 June, said, his government has formed a Special Investigating Team (SIT) to investigate the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

“The Aam Aadmi Party government is forming the SIT on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. We will provide all legal help to the riot victims,” said Kejriwal.

Earlier, the AAP accused the Central government of not being serious in pursuing the 1984 riots cases. He said if the Centre doesn’t take action against former Congress leader Jagdish Tytler, in the wake of fresh evidence, the AAP will take the said issue to its logical end.

Meanwhile, the AAP is making grand preparations for the Punjab assembly elections, scheduled in 2017. The party has four MPs in Lok Sabha.
