Supporting the HRD minister’s office claims, the police said on 7 March the deceased doctor, who was killed on Yamuna expressway, had reached the accident site before Smriti Irani’s convoy arrived there.
SSP Rakesh Yadav said, “The minister’s cavalcade reached the accident spot a good seven to eight minutes after the road accident , in which one person was killed and two others injured. Her convoy bumped into the vehicles queued up on on Yamuna expressway due to the (doctor’s) accident.”
But the deceased’s daughter, cried herself hoarse complaining, “Smriti Irani’s convoy rammed into our car, she came out, I begged her for help but she got into another car and left,” she told the ANI.
“My sister literally pleaded Irani with folded hands for help, but she did not stop,” said the victim’s son, Abhishek Nagar.
According to a media report, the Agra Police had lodged an FIR against one of Irani’s drivers for causing the accident on the complaint of the victim’s son.
