The Canadian Minister is expected to visit India next month.

“Harjit Sajjan is a Khalistani sympathiser, and so was his father,” Amarinder said.  “In fact, there are five ministers in the Justin Trudeau government who were Khalistani sympathisers and I would not have any truck with them,” he added.“They had prevailed upon the government to prevent my entry into Canada, where I wanted to go to meet my Punjabi brethren and not to campaign for elections,” he said.

Before the Punjab assembly polls, Captain Amarinder Singh had been denied permission to address rallies in Canada, he had blamed the “Khalistani sympathisers” for the same. Khalistani movement was initiated by a section of Sikhs that sought a separate country, Khalistan for the Sikh people.

On the question of beef ban in the state, Amarinder said the people have the right to eat whatever they want and should be allowed to do so.

He also said that he was not in favour of a ban on Pakistani artistes and that he would be happy to invite them to Punjab and would also love to visit Pakistan again. He also urged the government to mend fences and make friends with Pakistan as New Delhi needs to be more wary of China, he added.

On the issue of tampering with Electronic Voting Machines, Amarinder said that had that been the case Akali’s would have won the elections, not him. Talking about the drug issue in Punjab, the CM said that things were moving in the right direction.
