Opposition YSR Congress party has decided to boycott the remaining winter session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly to restrict the House from raising the ‘call money racket’ issue and reviewing Party MLA RK Roja’s suspension.
Opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took his members out of the House.
The five-day winter session was marked by the protests that took place over the ‘call money racket’ issue.
Roja was suspended for one year due to the unparliamentary comments he made against chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Legislative affairs minister Y Rama Krishnudu clarified that there was no use of reviewing Roja’s suspension and said that the ‘call money racket’ issue had already been concluded; this included, allegations of harassment of borrowers by private lenders who provided easy loans at excessively high interest rates.
