Yogi Adityanath to meet PM, Amit Shah to decide ministerial portfolios


MOdi-Yogia-AdityanathUttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah in New Delhi on March 21 to decide the portfolios of the 47 UP ministers.

Later, he would call on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to consult with him about the law and order situation in UP.

It may be noted here that apart from the CM, there are 22 Cabinet ministers, nine MoS with independent charge and 13 MoS. Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma have been appointed as Deputy CMs.

While the Deputy CMs are fighting it out for the finance portfolio, the CM and Maurya want the BJP top leadership to interfere as both want the home portfolio. While this was so, the CM is also likely to keep education and health portfolios with him.

Also, there is a possibility of a bureaucratic and police reshuffle in the coming days. Senior officials such as the Chief Secretary and the DGP could be changed before the week-end.

On March 20, the CM started work along with concerned officials on his party’s poll promises that include farm loan waiver and slaughterhouse ban.

The Principal Secretary to PM Modi will function as the middleman between the Centre and the state. It is learnt that the schemes among others will be launched in UP in after due consultations with the PMO.
