Congress party were swift to take on Amit Shah’s “Pakistan will celebrate” remark. Congress leader and former finance minister, P Chidambaram mounted a counter attack on Amit Shah, saying that if BJP loses in Bihar- writers, scientist, historian will celebrate.
Mocking the Shah’s comment, Chidambaram, tweeted, saying,
If BJP loses in Bihar, there will be celebrations and relief among many others – writers, scientists, historians and moderate citizens

The tweet referred to the escalating protest by eminent writers, filmmakers, scientists, and historians, who have been returning theirs award against what they called “growing intolerance in the country”.
Earlier on Thursday, BJP President Amit Shah, addressing a meeting in Bihar, had said, “If by any chance the BJP government is not formed, crackers will be burst in Pakistan. Then he asked the crowd if they want that to happen. Later, he appealed to the people to ensure victory of BJP “so that disappointment descends in Pakistan”.
Shah also alleged that RJD chief Lalu Yadav was making a casteist appeal by calling the elections a fight between forwards and backwards. “We also say it’s a fight between forward and backward but it’s not on caste lines as said by Lalu Prasad but a ‘pichra (backward) Bihar, versus ‘aggra (frontline) Bihar’,” he said.
