Team India play their final Pool B match against Zimbabwe at Auckland. The match given the context of the tournament is a dead rubber. India a have already clinched their place in the quarter- finals thanks to their five consecutive wins. Zimbabwe on the other hand would like to go out on a high. That is a tough ask given the way India have played in the tournament. While India will be seeking perfection ahead of the dreaded knock- out phase the – quarters, Zimbabwe would be hoping to give one of their star batsmen Brendan Taylor a perfect farewell with a upset win.
“We all know they are a batting powerhouse but they certainly hold their own with the ball. They’ve had proven performances with their spinners, and we see how well they’ve done for India over the years, and even in conditions that are not so suitable for them, they’ve still been very difficult to get away,” Taylor said at the pre-match media conference.
India clearly have advantage going into this match. It remains to be seen, how much Zimbabwe is able to test India.
