There is much to play for both South Africa and New Zealand as they clash in the first semi- finals of the 2015 World Cup at Auckland. The Kiwis have been in great form ata their backyard. And it will require some effort from South Africa to pull it off. Interestingly both the teams will be aiming to reach their maiden World Cup final. So the nerves will be there on both sides. Both skippers Brendon McCullum and A B De Villiers have been in excellent form and have led the side aggressively.

There is no shortage of stars on both sides. If the Proteas have the likes of Hashim Amla, Dale Steyn, A B De Villiers, David Miller , J P Duminy and spin ace Imran Tahir. Then the Kiwis have double centurion Martin Guptill , skipper Brendon McCullum , Ross Taylor, Corey Anderson , Tim Southeee, Trent Boult and Daniel Vettori.

So  a fascinating encounter is likely on the cards . And one just hopes that unlike the quarter- finals which were mainly one- sided the semis is turns out to be a thriller.

New Zealand (probable) Martin Guptill, Brendon McCullum (capt), Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Grant Elliott, Corey Anderson, Luke Ronchi (wk), Daniel Vettori, Tim Southee, Matt Henry/Kyle Mills, Trent Boult

South Africa (probable) Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock (wk), Faf du Plessis, AB De Villiers (capt), Rilee Rossouw, David Miller, JP Duminy, Dale Steyn, Vernon Philander/Kyle Abbott, Morne Morkel, Imran Tahir
