Although it garnered immense interest among online film aficionados before its release, the technologically-superlative but deficient-in-narrative “I”, starring Vikram and Amy Jackson failed to impress at the box office this Friday.
Giving “I” company is this week’s other release – Bipasha Basu-starrer “Alone”. A horror movie – the preferred genre of Bipasha Basu, for some time now – “Alone” also stars Karan Singh Grover as Basu’s love interest.
Which makes us wonder if “Alone” will hinder the already slow pace of Sonakshi Sinha-Arjun Kapoor-starrer “Tevar”? Last week, “Tevar” — allotted around 2800-3000 screens — collected only about Rs 7 crore on its opening day. But it managed to hold on to its single screen audience, seeing a growth in occupancy by 20% on Sunday, hence minting Rs 8 crore approximately. “Tevar” now stands at a total weekend collection of about Rs 22 crore.
