A new project in B-Block of Connaught Place with retail shops and restaurants aims to give visitors a mall-like experience with a food court and a variety of casual dining restaurants under one roof.
The lifestyle hub, The Colonnade, slated for a December launch, is backed by Hardev Singh Akoi and Adil Singh Akoi the names behind the Imperial Hotel.
Adil Singh Akoi said “We will create a CP with more than 25,000 square feet allocated for the first phase and an additional 30,000 sq ft of retail space for the second phase.”
The Colonnade will be executed in two stages, beginning with a food and beverage space followed by development in which exclusive retail brands will open outlets.
The project has been visualised by project director Manav Deep Singh, The Colonnade who says the concept is based on the central theme of ‘DillikaDil’ as people from all parts the city visit the market.
The focus has been to give one the experience of a classic mid-market food court experience and casual dining restaurants focussing on entertainment.
The inner CP where prices are very high was made available as it is the ancestral property of Hardev Singh Akoi. To deal with the rush busy, commercial hub, promoters say they have arranged for a valet service that can be used by visitors.
“We have maintained the property’s heritage and hence the name. The Colonnade symbolises a building with pillars,” says Manav Deep Singh.
Talking about the food and beverage options, the project director says, “The key is to focus on brands with market appeal. We will select brands which don’t have presence in CP. Dining restaurants will be located on the first floor. The ground floor will house a food court ‘The Courtyard’, offering quick dining options such as Burger King, Kylin, Punjabi By Nature, Pita Pit, Fat Lulu’s, Wow Momo and Habibi among others.”
