A video clip showing a youth tied as a shield in front of an army jeep in Beerwah area of Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir has been shared by former CM Omar Abdullah has gone viral on social networking sites.
While the authenticity of the video is yet to be determined, the incident, the video clip shows the jeep moving ahead of an army patrol, has taken place at Gundipora village of the district. The clip was uploaded as soon as Internet services were restored in the state on April 13 evening.
Responding to the video clip, Indian Army has said it would conduct a detailed probe into the incident.
The video clip comes days after another clip showing youths attacking, heckling and beating up CRPF jawans during bypoll oo the Srinagar parliamentary constituency on April 9, went viral.
In a tweet, Abdullah, an MLA from Beerwah area, said, “This young man was TIED to the front of an Army jeep to make sure no stones were thrown at the jeep? This is just so shocking!!!!”.

In the same breath, he asked while the anger the CRPF video can be fully justified, but won’t this video generate equal anger? Demanding an inquiry into the incident, the National Conference leader said, did the video clip serve as a warning to stone pelters to show that this would be their fate?
Tanvir Sadiq of the National Conference said this incident has taken place at and termed this incident shocking and shameful.
In the clip, an army soldier could be heard philosophically saying, those who throw stones will meet the same fate.
