Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) senior leader Ashok Singhal expired on 17 November after a prolonged illness. He was 89.
His colleague and VHP leader Praveen Togadia confirmed the news of Singhal’s demise. He said that Singhal breathed his last at 2.24pm, at Medanta Medicity, hospital in Gurgaon.
Singhal, it was learnt, was suffering from heart and kidney problems. As his health worsened, he was admitted to the hospital on 16 November.
Keeping in view of Singhal’s bad health, the parishad had cancelled its 18-day Chaturved Swahakar Yajna that was scheduled to start at New Delhi’s Birla Mandir, from November 16, as well as its Diwali Milan programme.
