Uzbek woman gang-raped in South Delhi, Ex-boyfriend arrested

A 36-year-old woman from Uzbekistan was allegedly beaten up and gang-raped by her ex-boyfriend and his friends who stormed into her rented apartment in Masoodpur Area, South Delhi on the night of March 9 and 10.

Her former boyfriend Anubhav Yadav is under custody.

The women, traumatised and scared to report to the police, told her story to a friend who suggested her to file a complaint.

Anubhav and his five friends forcibly entered her apartment around 2 a.m. and beat her up for not taking Anubhav’s call, according to the police.

They have reportedly met on social networking site and started meeting each other and entered into a relationship.
According to the woman’s complaint, she broke-up with Yadav two weeks ago. However, Yadav was not happy about the breakup and started “calling and harassing” her over the phone. The woman began avoiding him and stopped taking his calls.

On the night of March 14, she filed a complaint at the Vasant Kunj police station following which a case was registered.

The woman identified two of them as her former boyfriend Anubhav Yadav and his friend Gaurav Bhatia. She told the police that she did not know other men as she had not met them before.
