After an attack on a BSF convoy in which two jawans were killed on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Udhampur, a terrorists has been caught alive by security forces and a terrorist was also killed in the gunfilght.
Earlier in the day, militants wearing military uniforms started firing at a bus in which BSF soldiers were travelling. The security forces returned fire and killed one terrorist.
According to reports, the second terrorists identified as Usman Khan, reportedly ran into a village taking three villagers as hostage, and was later captured by security personnel after nearly four hours of firing in a dense forest. Security forces also successfully rescued three civilians.
Former chief minister Omar Abdullah said it is the first attack in that area after many years. “An attack on that stretch of the NH in very long time. Worrying development because that area was militant-free,” he tweeted.
