Two people were killed and one badly injured when two men with a gun started shooting at a Swiss cafe in Basel, Switzerland on March 9.
The investigation led by the Swiss prosecutor’s office revealed that the men entered Café 56 and shot several times before fleeing. The victims are yet to be identified.
“Two men came into a cafe at around 8.15 p.m. local time and fired several rounds of shots,” police said in a statement.
Authorities said that they are looking for the shooters who quickly fled the scene in the direction of the railway station and their motive remains unclear. “The reason behind the attack is not yet known and will be investigated,” the Basel prosecutor’s office said in a statement.A forensic team was collected evidence on the crime scene.
Local residents disclosed that the establishment was once known for its links to the drug world but has cleared its image after changing their owners several years ago.
