Tiger Memon rang up his family just on 30 July shortly before Yakub Memon was hanged, ET reports say. Tiger Memon, one of the most wanted terrorist and the brother of Yakub Memon, the lone death row convict in 1993 , had fled after the mastermind role in the Mumbai attack.

In the early hour of 30 July, Tiger reportedly spoke about revenge during the conversation with his mother and another family member and the number was being monitored by a wing of the Mumbai Police and the officials listening in identified Tiger’s voice. The call was confirmed by security officials in Mumbai and Delhi.

The Mumbai Police, however, denied the report of intercepting any conversation between Mushtaq alias Tiger Memon and his mother Hanifa hours before the hanging of his brother Yakub. Yakub Memon, Tiger’s younger brother was hanged in the Nagpur Central Jail on July 30 for his role of providing logistical support to the bombers.

Meanwhile, Supreme Court Justice Dipak Misra who handed down death penalty to Yukub, has received an anonymous letter threatening his life at his residence in Tuglak Road. The letter warned that Justice Misra will be targeted even if his security is tightened. Delhi Police also beefed up the security of Justice Dipak Misra.
