BJP rally flagsA CPM youth activist and his friend have been admitted to a hospital after bike-borne unidentified men attacked them in Palakkad district of Kerala on early March 3. The victim has been identified as Rathish, 30. He has named three BJP activists, who, he said, attacked him in his residence.

A police officer said, “The incident took place around 5:30 pm. The complainant said three BJP activists entered his house and attacked him. We are probing the case.”

A day after the culprits hurled bombs at a RSS office at Kallachi, two DYFI activists were hacked to death at Elappulli in Palakkad.

The attack came on a day when a video surfaced an RSS leader from Madhya Pradesh announcing to bequeath Rs 1 crore to the one who gives Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s head.

On March 2, two BJP workers were injured when the party office in Kozhikode was bombed. Moments later, the CPM office was set on fire.

The incidents were reported after an RSS Pramukh, Kundan Chandravat held Vijayan responsible for the RSS workers’ deaths. CPM state secretariat has protested against the RSS pramukh’s statement. DYFI is the youth wing of the CPM.

The RSS or Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh disowned the comments. “The RSS condemns the statement and doesn’t support views advocating violence.”

There have been many clashes between the RSS and the CPM with each blaming the other in Kannur.

More than 400 political violence cases with more than 600 CPM workers, 280 BJP and 52 Congress activists had been arrested in Kannur since May 2016. The police has named three BJP workers in connection with the attack on the DYFI activists.
