Gaurav Singh’s family was skeptical about his giving up a corporate job to work with an NGO, but came around once they saw how the project fuelled his passion.
He came up with the idea for 3.2.1 Schools, an organisation that aims big: to run India’s first charter school (privately operated and publicly funded) network.
Singh plans to set up 100 schools in the next 15 years — a dream backed by a group of like-minded people, some who support him financially and some who work with him every day. “It’s great to know I’m not the only crazy one, and to work with people who don’t just want to complain about their country and take the next plane out to the US or the UK, but do something about it,” he says.
