In a shocking incident, the biggest, and rather famous fan of the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and team India, Sudhir Gautam, was attacked in Dhaka. The incident happened after India’s loss in the second one-day international, on June 21.
Sudhir, sporting India’s tri-color flag, on his body, said, he was attacked by Bangladeshi fans soon after the match ended outside the Sher-e Bangla National Cricket Stadium, in Mirpur.
“As soon as I left the stadium, people mobbed me and started snatching the Tricolour, breaking the handle of the flag. Two policemen who were outside the stadium came to my rescue and they escorted me to an auto-rickshaw. But the mob further attacked the auto and tried to break into it. They even hurled stones on the vehicle but luckily the auto was covered completely and I didn’t get hurt,” Sudhir was quoted, in a media report.
Sudhir Gautam is considered to be Tendulkar’s, as well as the Indian cricket team’s number 1 fan. He is widely recognised for attending every home game the Indian team has played, since 2003.
Sudhir, who has devoted his life cheering Sachin Tendulkar, even postponed his marriage, so that he could watch all the matches played by the Indian cricket team.
