The burnt bodies of Congress lawmaker, Sircilla Rajaiah’s daughter-in-law ,and her three children, were found, this morning, after a massive fire at his house, in Warangal, Telangana.
“Four persons, including Rajaiah’s daughter-in-law (S Sarika) and his three grandchildren, all boys, died in the fire incident,” police said.
According to the police, the fire was most probably due to a gas explosion. “It is too early to come to a conclusion…it will take some more time…there is no clarity,” police added.
The fire broke out on the second floor of Rajaiah’s house, in Hanamkonda area of Warangal city, where the members were staying. Warangal city police commissioner G Sudheer Babu, and other police officers, are at the spot for assessment of the situation.
Rajaiah, who is a former member of Parliament from Warangal constituency, is contesting in the Warangal Lok Sabha bypoll elections, scheduled for November 21.
In April 2014, Sarika, Rajaiah’s daughter-in-law, had alleged that her husband, and in-laws, had been harassing her. Following the complaint, a criminal case was filed by S Sarika against against Rajaiah, his wife, son and another woman, at the Begumpet women’s police station in April 2014.
