Marriage seems to be the flavor of the season as far as Indian cricket is concerned. After Suresh Raina’s marriage another eligible bachelor of Indian cricket seems to be on the verge of matrimony. Star batsman and Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma has got engaged to his longtime friend Ritika Sajdeh.
The 28-year-old ‘hitman’ of Team India proposed to Ritika, who is also of the same age, at the Borivali Sports Club in Mumbai, where he nurtured his cricketing skills.
“From best friends to soulmates, couldn’t get any better,” Rohit wrote on his twitter handle and also uploaded a photograph of him and his lady love wearing a solitaire. Rohit is the world record holder for the highest run score in One-Day International cricket history (264 against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens).
Both have known each other for the last six years. Infact, Ritika has worked as his manager. Reports suggest that they were in love for sometime and marriage was only round the corner.
