Followers and admirers of external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj have noticed an unusual change in her bio on Twitter ,over the past week – the descriptor “foreign minister” has been deleted.
For the past week or so, Swaraj’s bio section on Twitter has been blank without any description or association to the govt. According to a website that tracks changes made to a person’s Twitter bio, she had last changed her bio to “Foreign Minister, Government of India” about two months ago. The sudden deletion has been made at a time when the opposition, especially the Congress, has been demanding Swaraj’s ouster for helping tainted former IPL chief Lalit Modi to obtain British travel documents at a time when his Indian passport was abrogated.
The allegation against Swaraj has been pinpointed in the monsoon session of Parliament, where she has been repeatedly attacked by the Congress.
Swaraj is active on Twitter and on Wednesday, she alleged that a Congress leader had pressured her to issue a diplomatic passport to former minister of state Santosh Bagrodia, an accused in the coal scam.
