Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor who was admitted to a hospital in Rajkot after testing positive for swine flu, was flown to Mumbai by an air-ambulance . “Sonam Kapoor, who was being treated at the Sterling hospital for swine flu infection has been taken to Mumbai by an air-ambulance,” Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Kamal Parikh, told PTI. The actress who is in Mumbai hospital is apparently making quick recovery from the dreaded disease and is hopeful of return to action soon.
The 29 year old actress, who was shooting for Rajshri Production’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, showed influenza- like symptoms, said the doctors treating her at Sterling Hospital . Sonam Kapoor has been shooting with actor Salman Khan for Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo at Gondal in Gujarat from last 10 days.
The report of the medical tests conducted on her is positive and the doctor has confirmed that the actress has been afflicted with H1N1, or swine flu. Sonam’s physical trainer has also caught the dreaded virus, which is spreading dangerously in Gujarat and across the country. “ Tests revealed that Sonam Kapoor had tested positive for swine flu, she is stable now. It seems she got infected with the virus from her gym trainer who too has tested positive,” Dr. Pankaj Rathore told ANI
The actress had cough and mild fever when she first came to Rajkot a couple of days back and had to fly back to Mumbai for treatment, said the doctor. “She was suffering from cough, sore throat and mild fever and has been kept under observation, “ Kamal Parikh, medical director of Sterling Hospital, told PTI
According to Health Department of Rajkot Municipal Corporation(RMC), over 58 swine flu positive cases have been reported in city since January 1 and six people have scummed to swine flu in the city. Many schools have given holidays to its students till March 9, 2015, after a school teacher of Saint Mary’succumbed to swine flu three days ago in the city.
