The Delhi police have constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the mysterious death of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s wife, Sunanda Pushkar. The Delhi police had yesterday registered a murder case in this matter after receiving a final medical report from AIIMS.
“We have formed an SIT to probe the Sunanda Pushkar case,” Delhi Police Chief B S Bassi told reporters today. Bassi did not rule out questioning Tharoor if need arose.
In a media statement given yesterday, Bassi had confirmed that Sunanda’s death was unnatural and caused by poisoning.
Meanwhile, Shashi Tharoor had expressed shock over police filing a murder case in her death.
Pushkar was found dead in mysterious conditions at a luxury hotel, Leela Palace in New Delhi on Jan 17, 2014. Her body was found by her husband Shashi Tharoor.
