The Shiv Sena, on 3 December, said, the issue surrounding the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya should not be politicised from time to time.
Reacting to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement that theRam Temple would be built at Ayodhya within his lifetime, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that, it is practical that the right wing organisation announce a date for the same.
“We also want the Ram Temple be constructed, but they should give a definite time-frame for the same,” said Raut.
Expressing hope that the proposed Ram Temple will be built at Ayodhya in his lifetime, Bhagwat, on 2 December, had said, it needs careful planning.
“With the elections in Uttar Pradesh fast approaching, if the Ram Temple issue is made a political matter, then the people won’t forgive us. The people should not be deceived on this matter,” he added.
“The temple will be built within my lifetime. Maybe, we will see it with our own eyes. None can say when, but the temple will be built. We need to be prepared and ready,” said Bhagwat, while addressing a programme in Kolkata, to pay tribute to brothers Ram Kothari and Sharad Kothari killed in police firing, while performing kar seva at Ayodhya, in 1990.
“We must plan it carefully. A good mix of ‘josh’ (passion) and ‘hosh’ (sanity) is needed to complete the work which Ram and Sharad had initiated,” he added.
