The CBI on Monday conducted raids at 9 different locations in five cities across the country in relation with the Sheena Bora murder case and extended the judicial custody of all three accused till October 31. The locations included Sheena Bora’s grandparents’ house in Guwahati and also the houses of accused Indrani Mukerjea, her driver Shyamvar Rai and ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna.
Locations in Mumbai, Goa, Guwahati, Kolkata and Chindwara were raided. Case under various sections of Indian Penal Code including criminal conspiracy, murder, abduction, destruction of evidence, causing hurt by giving poison and Arms Act have been filed by the CBI.
Sheena Bora, earlier belived to be Indrani Mukerjea’s sister but later revealed to be her 25-year-old daughter from the first marriage, was murdered on 24 April, 2012. Her body was burnt and disposed off in a forest in Maharashtra’s Raigad district.
