Shashi Tharoor named in Sunanda Pushkar murder case by ex-staff: Sources

A Leela Hotel staff who had resigned after the incident has named Tharoor and one of his associates in a statement, a police source revealed to Tehelka. The source also revealed that a senior hotel management official and one of Shashi Tharoor’s associates are under the scanner. Possibly, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor could soon face arrest in the murder case of his wife Sunanda Pushkar.

Days after the Delhi police revealed that his late wife Sunanda Pushkar was murdered, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor  is facing the heat . After the  Delhi police formed an SIT to probe  Sunanda’s death, the police is set to quiz Tharoor , family  and  close friends soon.

It may be recalled that Sunanda (52), wife of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a 5-star hotel in South Delhi on the night of January 17 2014, a day after her twitter spat with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar over an alleged affair with husband Congress MP Shashi Tharoor. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy alleged that Sunanda was murdered because she about to reveal about money laundering angle in the Indian Premier League.

The autopsy conducted by forensic experts at AIIMS last year had mentioned 15  injury marks on Sunanda’s both hands and an abrasion on her cheek suggesting a “use of blunt force”, besides a “deep teeth bite” on the edge of her left palm. The report also mentions the injury #12 was a bite mark and injury # 10 was injection mark. Viscera samples were preserved after the autopsy at AIIMS and were sent to CFSL for further tests. The CFSL report had hinted at drug poisoning. Soon after the Delhi Police revelations  hinting murder of his wife  Shashi Tharoor, in an e-mail statement to the media  expressed shock over police filing a murder case in Sunnada Pushkar’s death.

In the latest follow -up , the SIT probing Sunanda Pushkar’s death interrogated for 5 hours the the domestic help of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor.
