Tamil Nadu police, on Thursday, arrested seven persons in connection with a gangrape of a minor girl, in Salem.
The 15-year old girl was gangraped for five days at an abandoned house situated at a hilly area, according to a complaint filed by her parents.
Police said the 15-year-old girl was on her way back home from school, on the evening of May 31, when a tea shop employee accosted her and took her to the house in Vazhapady, in the district
The man tied her up, locked her in a room and called up his friends; together they sexually assaulted her for the last five days, the Police said.
The girl managed to escape from there on Wednesday, and narrated the incident to her parents, after having walked 12 km back to her house. The parents then filed a complaint with police on Wednesday night.
Police arrested seven persons and booked them under various sections of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
