Security beefed up as IS threatens to attack Taj Mahal



Terror organization, Islamic State has released a graphic image showing Taj Mahal in the backdrop and ISIS terrorist standing next to it, depicting a possible terror attack on one of the wonders of the world.

The image was posted on a channel of Telegram, the encrypted communication app, on March 14 by the Ahwaal Ummat Media Center.

The graphic, which also has an inset showing another image of the Taj Mahal has got the words “New Target” below it.

Last year, the US state department warned India of possible terror attacks by the ISIS.

 The report was confirmed by Site Intelligence Group, which tracks jihadi activity on the web.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police Preetinder Singh, police have increased the vigil and they are keeping a close watch on the crowd.

Along with it, the SWOT commandos have been stationed at vantage points and to test the state of readiness, mock drills are being conducted.

According to reports, police teams are keeping an eye on the movement of vehicles.

On March 16, a team of the bomb disposal and dog squads and Superintendent of Police Sushil Dhule visited the entire area around the Taj Mahal.

It may be noted that the annual Taj Mahotsava is set to begin on March 18.
