Sanjay Dutt may have much to look forward to upon his much awaited return to his life outside of prison. The Munnabhai actor, who is currently out on parole, having cited his daughter’s nose surgery, was greeted with open arms by friends and well wishers, like, producer – director Vidhu Vinod Chopra and director Sanjay Gupta. Dutt is known to share a close bond with the two, having collaborated with them on several projects, in the past.
Dutt was most recently seen on the big screen in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s blockbuster production, PK. He has since spent much of his time shuffling between his residence in Mumbai, and Pune’s Yerawada Jail.
If the grapevine is to be believed, Dutt is set to make a comeback upon his final return from the prison, with friend and director, Sanjay Gupta, in a yet to be titled action-thriller project. So far, two scripts have been shortlisted for the same, and reportedly a number of B-town filmmakers have expressed keen interest in working with the superstar, however nothing has been finalised yet.

Despite of his publicaly covered trial and his stints in jail, Dutt has, throughout his difficult times, managed to garner great amounts of support from his B-town friends, and family. His anticipated come back to the industry is evident of his the love and support he receives, as well as his superstar status.
After having his sentence reduced to 42 months, Dutt has been in and out of jail, on parole, quite regularly. He has, in total, spent a total of 118 days outside of prison.
Dutt was sentenced to 42 months in the Yerawada Jail, in Pune, after a long drawn trial, over his involvement in the devastating, 1993 Mumbai Blasts.
