Samsung announced the launch of its latest smartphone during the Samsung Unpacked 2014 event and has grabbed eyeballs for its unique design element which has been seen for the first time in a smartphone. The new Android smartphone, Galaxy Note Edge will be available in India January 2015 first week onwards at a price of Rs 64,900 for the 32 GB variant. The Galaxy Note Egde will come in Charcoal Black and Frost White colours.
Samsung’s latest offering Galaxy Note Edge derives its name from the curved display around its edge but this very design element of the new flagship Android smartphone could turn out to be the flaw Samsung could later regret. It seems the engineers who designed this beauty were all right handed because it becomes quite uncomfortable for a left-handed user to work on the device. The idea is to use the screen at the edge as a notification panel or a quick launcher.
Samsung Galaxy Note Edge has a 5.6-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED screen (1,600×2,560 pixels) that gives it an impressive display. The smartphone runs on a 2.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 3GB RAM and Adreno 420 GPU.
Internal memory is expandable up to 128GB through microSD card. The operating system is Android 4.4 KitKat and the smartphone has 4G connectivity. The powerhouse gets its juice from a Fast Charging (Adaptive Fast Charging & Quick Charge 2.0) 3000mAh battery.
