The SP-Congress joint roadshow will be held in Varanasi on March 4, after it was postponed twice. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi will address the roadshow.
Varanasi, represented by PM Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha, goes to polls on March 8.
Stating that the roadshow has been postponed to March 4, the District Congress president said the route would be finalised soon.
The joint roadshow initially planned for February 11, had to be deferred seeing the large numbers of pilgrims visiting Varanasi on Ravidas Jayanti. Later, the roadshow was decided to be held on February 27, which was also postponed.
On March 2, Gandhi would address a rally at Pindra Assembly seat in the district in favour of the alliance candidate Ajay Rai, the sitting Congress MLA.
On March 4, Yadav will address some rallies and public meetings in support for SP candidate in eastern UP, before proceeding for the roadshow.
The CM will address rallies in Keshavpur in Bhadohi district and then in Munari in Varanasi district in favour of the Samajwadi Party candidates.
