IOS is targeting as much as Rs 25 crore over the two years duration, depending upon Saina’s performance in the 2016 Rio Olympics and her stability in the rankings.
The announcement came soon after Saina won a silver medal at the World Championship in Jakarta.
Hereon, IOS will manage Saina’s endorsements, brand profiling, appearances, patents, networking sites and licensing.
“I have been playing well in the international circuit, but I was looking for a sports management group that could manage my brand portfolio and logistics plus commercial activities in a professional manner,” she said.
“I am really convinced in the way IOS has built Mary Kom and that was the reason I decided to join hands with it,” added Saina.
IOS managing director Neerav Tomar said, “I congratulate Saina for making the nation proud at regaining the World No.1 spot. We are pleased to welcome another top women sportsperson into the family.”
Cricketer Suresh Raina, and Olympic medallists Mary Kom, Sushil Kumar and Vijender Singh are also managed by IOS.
