AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan called the RSS a terrorist group in a Facebook post recently. “RSS is a terrorist group, the government of India should ban it”, the MLA from Okhla wrote.
“People like Pragya Thakur, Swami Aseemanand, Colonel Purohit, somehow have been associated with the RSS and they all were involved in cases like Makka Masjid blast and Malaegaon blast case,” he said when contacted for comments.
“Smriti Irani says that the tri color flag of India must be hoisted in all central universities, but if this is how it is then why not at the RSS head office? Those who cannot hoist the flag of India, how can they love India?” he added. “The RSS had no role in the freedom movement of India. In fact, they were against it.”
The AAP MLA also accused the BJP of dividing the country with its differential treatment of people and by supporting leaders who spew venom against a particular community. Referring to the JNU incident, he said while the BJP charges people with sedition for raising anti-India slogans, why has it formed a government with PDP in Kashmir who have a clear pro-Pakistan policy and who consider Afzal Guru a martyr.
He further said, in order to hide their inability to fulfill their promises of governance, it is an attempt to divert the focus and raise other issues.
Reacting to his Facebook post, Kuljeet Singh Chahal, BJP leader, alleged that people like Amanatullah Khan were against India. Khan and others questioned Moolchand Sharma’s martyrdom and favoured Afzal Guru, he alleged. “The police is doing their work. People like him should not be entertained rather they must be barred. It is vote bank politics.”
