Ramdev clarifies on son-guarantee medicine, demands MP Tyagi an apology

Baba Ramdev clarifies that ‘putrajeewak beej’ medicine has nothing to do with the birth of son or daughter.

In a response to defend the criticisms from opposition leaders on the controversial Putrajeewak Beej medicine, yoga guru and spiritual leader Baba Ramdev clarifies that it has nothing to do with the birth of son or daughter. Ramdev alleges that they were attempting to malign PM Narendra Modi’s image through him.

“Through me, a fakir, they are trying to malign Prime Minister Modiji,” the yoga guru said.

“The botanical name of this medicine is ‘Putranjiva roxburghi’. It’s called ‘Putrajeevak’ in Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, and other languages. What should I do when its very name is Putrajeevak?”,  Ramdev said.

“MPs who have no clue about Ayurveda should be ashamed and should apologise to the nation. The medicine (pack) does not say anywhere that it helps in producing a son,” Ramdev said demanding an apology from JD (U) MP KC Tyagi, who raised the issue in Rajya Sabha, accusing him of resorting to “lies”.

Earlier, opposition members in Rajya Sabha termed the medicine as illegal and unconstitutional and raise an issue to take stringent action against the manufacturer. The leader demanded to ban the purported ayurveda product.
