Ram Gopal Yadav reinstated into SP after being expelled for 6 years

ram-gopalThe Samajwadi Party on November 17 reinstated Ram Gopal Yadav back into the party, from which he was expelled for six years for anti-party activities.

Expulsion of Ramgopal stands revoked, said SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.

In a statement, Mulayam said that Ram Gopal will continue as the SP leader in the Rajya Sabha, National general secretary, and member of the party’s national parliamentary board.

The decision was taken ahead of crucial Assembly polls in UP, which is expected to be held early next year. On being taken back, Ram Gopal said that it had to happen.

The SP chief, on Mulayam’s directions, expelled Ram Gopal from the party. Often favouring his nephew, Ram Gopal said, UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is the future of the party and without him, the party will not be able to sustain.

Things became ugly within the family and public at a party conference in November when both the Chief Minister and SP state president Shivpal Yadav traded accusations at each other.

It all began after Akhilesh sacked his uncle from the council of ministers after the later was made UP unit chief of the party.
