A major fire broke out at ticket reservation counters on the Gol Bagh side of Amritsar Railway Station on June 30, damaging entire reservation system, and the main server.

No casualty was reported in the incident.

Confirming the incident, a railway official said that the main reason for the fire was sudden short circuit due to which fire flames engulfed the entire reservation section of the railway station within no time. The fire damaged all computers as well as the main server.
