After a series of singles, Priyanka Chopra will soon be seen on American television as FBI agent Alex Parrish, who is a ‘half-Caucasian and half-Indian’ lady. After the likes of Anil Kapoor and Nimrat Kaur, Priyanka Chopra is the latest Bollywood star to be part of an American TV show. Priyanka is going to have an international outing with ABC’s ‘Quantico’, and the recently launched trailer verifies that she has bagged not just a blink-and-you-miss-it role, but she is actually the lead protagonist.
It is a different game altogether that she will be donning the most typical female role on American Television-an investigating agent with a government agency surrounded by side kicks belonging to diverse races flaunting a variety of hair colors. But unlike her counterparts Kate Beckett (Castle), Teresa Lisbon (The Mentalist) and Katherine Moretti (Perception), Alex Parish is not playing the role of an all-powerful leading lady solving murder mysteries with the help of extremely intelligent male colleagues with supernatural abilities and wisdom.
The show revolves around a diverse group of recruits, who arrive at the FBI Quantico Base for training and PC is a mixed race FBI trainee who is suspected to be responsible for the biggest terrorist attack in America since 9/11. It seems so usual that a brown FBI agent in America is the prime suspect and not a Caucasian one.
Priyanka Chopra shared the trailer on Twitter and tweeted, “Here it is The trailer of #Quantico! Say whaaaa? Me so nervous!!!”. Friends, family and colleagues promptly took to the micro-blogging site to show their support to the actress’s new venture. “Priyankachopra ur most welcome madam…desi girl goes videsi…”, tweeted Arjun Kapoor, and “Priyankachopra outstanding….full JALWA!!!!”, tweeted her Fashion director Madhur Bhandarkar.
The 32-year-old actress is reportedly the first Indian actor who will be playing an important character on ABC and the television network will be airing the show this fall.
