Praveen Poojary murder case: Judicial custody of 21 accused extended

A local court extended the judicial custody of 21 persons accused in Praveen Poojary murder case till September 15 on August 31. At present, all the accused are lodged in Hiriadka jail.

Alleging that the duo was carrying cows to a slaughter house, activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal assaulted Poojary, 29, and another person Akshaya Devadiga, 20, at Kenjur village near Hebri on August 17.

Poojary was a member of Bharatiya Janata Party.

On being rushed Mahesh Hospital in Brahmavar, Poojary and Devadiga succumbed to their injuries.

While 18 accused persons were arrested on August 18, three more were arrested two days later.
