An anonymous piece in a Srinagar daily that graphically describes the bumbling nature of the government’s functioning through the weeks following the deluge has enraged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who promptly served a legal notice to the newspaper threatening to annul its declaration if it didn’t explain why such a write-up was carried. Even as an investigation has been ordered, a wild guessing game has started about who spilled the beans. The country’s top sleuths have much to answer for.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, deemed the new poster boy of the Left and one who does not dabble in social media or even use the Internet, now faces trouble as a fake Facebook account purporting to be his has gone viral. Many bogus postings have apparently been made in the account. The Tripura Police and its cybercrime wing have begun a probe into the opening of the fake account, which many say could have been the handiwork of a CPM insider.

Kerala CM Oommen Chandy’s son getting engaged to the granddaughter of an industrialist has created a huge buzz and highlighted the deep divisions within various Christian denominations in the state as the bride’s family belongs to the Pentecostal Church while the Chandys are Orthodox Christians. If Chandy embraces the Pentecostal tradition, which is different from the Orthodox Church in that it believes in the full gospel doctrine of the Bible, the uproar will hit the ceiling!
