PM Narendra Modi’s first visit to Naxal areas of Chhattisgarh

PM Modi with CM Dr Raman Singh

Prime Minister Modi started his visit in the Naxal-affected Dantewada, Chhattisgarh. PM first visited the Education City in Chhattisgarh. He also had an interaction with the students. There is a high tension going on in the region as the naxals has already blocked several roads to protest against Modi’s visit.

Interestingly, student raised a question regarding his workaholic nature. “It doesn’t matters how long you work, you feel a better relief when your work is done, and an unfinished work will always be a burden”, said PM.

However the main purpose of the PM visit is the inauguration of two projects worth a total of Rs. 24,000 crore. The project includes a steel plant in Dantewada’s Dilmili village and the second phase of a 140 km railway line from Raoghat to Jagdalpu.

“We are privileged to have your august presence with us today at Chhattisgarh and we tender you our red carpet welcome”, said Dr Raman Singh,CM, Chhattisgarh

ANI reported that BJP spokesperson has regarded the PM visit as heroic one. “Honourable Prime Minister’s visit to Dantewada to my mind is a very historic visit because Dantewada today is the hot bed of naxalism in this country. This is a place where no Prime Minister would want to visit. It is a highly sensitive area and the entire Bastar region including Dantewada and one or two adjoining districts,” BJP spokesperson G.V.L Narasimha Rao.

According to Congress, Modi is in Chhattisgarh to help the corporates. They alleged that real intention of the PM is to help corporates in getting an access to the minerals-rich Bastar region and he is least bothered about welfare of the people.

“Where was Mr Modi when people were dying? Now he is coming to sign Memorandums of Understanding,” said Chhattisgarh Congress chief Bhupesh Baghel on Friday.
