Under Centre’s regional connectivity scheme for civil aviation, known as Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik- UDAN, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the first flight on April 27.
Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India will fly from Delhi-Shimla route from an airport in Jubbarhatti, on the outskirts of Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The flight will run five days a week. The aircraft which is a 48-seater ATR will offer 35 seats on the Delhi-Shimla route and only 15 on the return journey.
The subsidy amount for this flight is Rs 3,340 per seat, said an Air India spokesperson.
The Prime Minister will launch two other flights later in the day. Operated by TruJet, flights will be on the Kadapa-Hyderabad and Nanded-Hyderabad routes and will be operated by.

The minimum fare for a one-way ticket along these two routes is Rs 1,000.
Under the UDAN scheme, airfare for an hour’s journey (approximately 500 km) on a fixed wing aircraft or for a 30-minute journey on a helicopter would be capped at Rs. 2,500, said the Prime Minister’s Office.
