“Pakistan, initiating the attack, resorted to the unprovoked targeting of the Indian positions on the LoC in Bhimber Gali sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The indiscriminate firing using small arms, automatics and mortars that started from 7.30 a.m. is still on,” said Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta.
Two civilians have also been seriously injured in the ceasefire violation.
“Two civilians have been seriously injured. Schools are closed for an indefinite period of time and evacuation will be done once there is break in firing,” said District Development Commissioner of Rajouri.
While this was so, Directors General of Military Operation of India and Pakistan held talks today. Indian Army DGMO said the Indian Army reserved the right to retaliate appropriately and added that all ceasefire violations are violated by Pakistan.
