Pak ceasfire violation: BSF head constable killed, 3 hurt in Akhnoor sector

Army jawansA BSF head constable was killed October 24 and an ASI was among the three injured as Pakistan indulged in heavy firing along the Indo-Pak border from Suchetgarh sector in RS Pura to Akhnoor sector.

Sushil Kumar, the deceased head constable, hailed from Pahova in Kurukshetra district of Haryana. As per media reports, the shelling was still continuing.

Civilian property was also damaged, but details are yet to be confirmed. The injured women, two of them, were identified as Parkasho Devi of Gajanso and Krishna Devi of Treva.

Earlier on October 23, Pakistani Rangers violated ceasefire by resorting to small bursts of fire at 6.20 pm. Later at 9.45 pm, 82mm mortar shells were fired in Abdullian, Korotana Khurd and Tube Well No 5. An alert Indian security forces retaliated and the exchange of mortar fire continued was late but midnight after Pakistani guns fell silent.

On October 21, during a retaliation to their sniper fire killing sepoy Gurnam Singh,the Indian security forces killed seven Pakistan Rangers tand two terrorists.
