One militant killed in gunfight with army in J&K; encounter continues

Security forces on 17 June killed one militant who was trapped inside a house in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore region following a fierce gunfight.

The army is striving to flush out the second militant, who is still firing on the security forces.

On a tip off, security forces surrounded a house in Chana Mohalla this morning. As the security forces neared the house(where the militants were hiding in), they came under heavy gunfire. Immediately the army cordoned off the area.

On 16 June, four  were killed by the army jawans in an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Tangdhar sector, according to media reports.

A few days ago, the army had foiled another attempt by militants to cross the border.
