Once again, it is December 25, Christmas

Years come and go but the festive spirit remains constant. The activities preceding the Christmas are on full swing. But what is Christmas, to be precise? Is the festival all about the gifts dangling down Xmas tree, the cards we share, greetings we utter to everyone we bump into or the sumptuous dinners we have together?

What makes it an event of a lifetime?

Joys and sorrows are two integral parts of our lives. Christmas can be joyous as well as melancholic, depending upon which side of the fence you are. Some are gripped by the pain of separation during the festival as their hearts beat for the loved ones who are away. Even a simple meal with them would warm the cockles of their hearts.

Yet, Christmas can be a time of pure joy. It is when God showers His love upon us. It can be a time of healing and renewed strength. Christmas marks the birthday of the Jesus Christ. God gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, to the world as a Saviour. Shepherds, wise men, and angels all were ecstatic about this momentous occasion. They all knew that this child was no mere mortal.  The star lingered over Bethlehem just to facilitate those who were looking for the unique child.

Irrespective of our circumstances, we can be really happy on Christmas day. Sorrows may be filling our hearts but we should be rejoicing at the fact that we are God’s very own children. The gate of heaven is awaiting our arrival.

So let us look at Christmas from a new perspective and bare our hearts to Jesus. This is Merry Christmas in the truest sense. Tranquility and the warmth you experience will last a lifetime as you pray to God to fulfill all your needs.

So let us all rejoice! Merry Christmas!
