Naxal attack kills four policemen in Chhattisgarh

In yet another attack, a landmine explosion killed four security personnel and injured 11 others in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. Security personnel, belonging to Chhatisgarh Armed Force, were travelling in anti-landmine vehicles as the suspected Naxals triggered the landmine explosive.

 RK Vij, Additional Director General of Naxal Operations, said, “A landmine vehicle was exploded by Naxals. Police officials reached the spot and took the injured to the hospital. We have received the information that four jawans have died and 11 are injured. The jawans replied to the firing. The Naxals ran away from there.”

After the incident, the injured security personnel are rushed to a hospital. Among the injured personnel, two of injured are reportedly to be critical condition.

On Saturday, seven STF (Special Task Force) personnel were killed and ten others injured in a fierce two hour gunbattle in the Pidmel-Polampalli area of the Sukma district when the STF was conduction a search operation in the jungle of the district, which is at around 390 kms south of the Raipur, the state capital.
