In an attempt to rejuvenate party cadre Samajwadi Party is going to celebrate its founder Mulayam Singh Yadav’s 76th birthday as foundation day of the Party on November 22 in a big way. Functions will be organised right from booth level to state level to showcase party’s achievements at grassroots and programmes and policies for the welfare of the people at large. Besides details of struggle of Party patriarch Mulayam would also be given to younger generation of the party workers.
Mega event going to be held at Mulayam Singh Yadav’s native place- Safai in Etawah district of UP. The celebrations will begin on November 21 evening and continue until midnight when he will cut a very special 76 kg cake before audience of more than 50,000 in the Safai Athletes Stadium.
Apart from an impressive concert by a 300-member group of A.R. Rahman, the big bash is likely to be attended by top Bollywood stars including Big B Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Salman Khan, Hritik Roshan, Sanjay Khan, Sonu Nigam and others.
A galaxy of guests from all spheres of life will grace the occasion. Besides, Rashtriya Janata Dal Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, whose daughter was recently married to Mulayam’s grand-nephew Tej Pratap Yadav, the new party MP from Mainpuri, tops the guest list of political leaders expected to attend the occasion. Mulayam’s sudden walkout from the “Grand Alliance” just on the eve of the recently held Bihar elections did sour his political equations with Lalu Prasad Yadav, but the birthday celebrations will give him a chance to re-strengthen their personal family ties.
Akhilesh Yadav’s personal team is engaged on a war footing to decorate Safai for the mega event. The birthday celebrations were formally being organized by the Safai Mahotsava committee, which holds the annual fair. “We are organizing the birthday celebrations for our patriarch” declares Vedvrat Gupta, Secretary of Safai Mahotsava Committee. “And let me also tell you that none of the celebrities are charging any fee to participate in the event. All we are doing is to take care of their logistics “, he claimed.
It may be remembered that Mulayam’s 75th birthday celebrations were hosted by Minister Azam Khan in his home district, Rampur, where he was given grand reception on riding a ‘buggy’ (horse-cart), specially imported from the United Kingdom.
