Bhumata Bridage Trupti Desai, who has a penchant to enter male-dominated areas with her hordes, will meet Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, demanding that women be allowed to become members of the RSS.
The RSS is the parent body of the ruling BJP. She has sought an audience with Bhagwat to inform him about her concern over the stringent rules of the organisation regarding women.
The meeting could likely be after June as the RSS sarsangchalak is busy attending the outfit’s camps in May and June, said RSS national communication head Aniruddha Deshpande. He said the RSS chief has conveyed through him a message to Desai that the meeting can be scheduled only after June.
When contacted, Desai of the Pune-based outfit said, “We are hopeful that RSS will act on our demand and will take a positive decision. We are ready to wait till July. However, men and women can’t do exercise together due to certain biological differences; hence, their organisations are separate.”
In April, Desai had written a letter to Bhagwat to let women join the RSS. Meanwhile, the members of the RSS said that women shakhas were running well in Nagpur, Nashik, Solapur and Pune.
